08/20/2001 August Star Party
We met in our new store at 223 St. Joseph St., in Suttons Bay, and proceeded out to the viewing site on Friday, August 17th. The three telescopes utilized included a Celestron 8? Schmidt-Cassegrain, a NexStar 5, and an 80 mm. Vixen refractor.
The clouds rapidly moved in during our Sky Tour, but then started to clear. The later it got, the clearer it became. In addition to Mars, we observed M13, the Great Globular Cluster in Hercules, M31, the Andromeda Galaxy, the Double Cluster in Perseus, M8, the Lagoon Nebula in Sagittarius, and the Milky Way.
